Tigerblue's Blog
They're back and they're fixed!
The first Storybook lots will be released on Friday. These are the home bakery and starter bakery lots that I postponed releasing until I was sure the roofs weren't misbehaving. The roofs are all fixed, definitely NOT green and have been independently tested ;-) Scroll down my blog for more details and pics!Cube Generations Set
Coming up on Tues (30th Jan) is the set of four Cube lots. I built these lots soon after building the Squares lot. I was obsessed with those big square windows from OFB (still am!) and wanted to build more lots based on cubes, this time based in an urban setting... and here they are.The lots do bear a resemblance to MissyZ's fabulous Water Court series and I want to acknowledge that here. I'm not trying to claim her ideas as my own; it's entirely probable that I was influenced by her work while I was building. These lots are simply my take on a similar theme :-)
So, there are four lots, all set up and ready to go. They would all definitely benefit from some re-decoration (I was designing to a strict budget!) but all the basics are there. Each lot is progressively larger than the last. The idea was that these lots were built on a derelict piece of land, which the owner was gradually able to do up.
Here's a couple of pics, which I hope will tempt you!

That's all for now :-)

Georgian Starter Set
Coming tomorrow - Sat 27th - two starters, in a Georgian period style. One of the lots requires Uni and OFB only. I've got a few lots planned in this style (the light brick with stone above it), so I hope you'll like it. Both lots have the same layout but different decor. This lot requires Uni and OFB only:

So, instead....
...check out The Boathouse. This will now be released tomorrow (Sat 20th Jan) instead of the Storybook Lots. This is another of my own much loved Sims homes and again, they built it up from scratch to the pretty little lot it is today.Ok, well, it's on a 3x3 lot; has accomodation for a small family (one child's bed only at the moment but the bedroom will accomodate two); has its own meadow to the side; a huge deck perfect for entertaining AND a basement PACKED with reward and aspiration objects.
Please give this lot a go. It's decorated in light tones and the adult bedroom is in the attic. It's got bags of character but it's difficult to show this in a few pics. Enough imploring from me - here's what I can show you:

Storybook Lots Delayed :-(
I'm sorry about this but I've withdrawn the two Storybook lots that were due to go on the site tomorrow. I always test things extensively and these two lots had passed with flying colours... until this morning, that is. I went into Pleasantville and found that from the neighbourhood view, the lots now looked like this:Not really the effect you're after, is it?! It's a graphics problem found in some versions of the Mac game - the roofs look perfectly ok when you're in them but from the neighbourhood screen they look ridiculous. Now, normally, I would boot up my old PC and check them on there again (I've already done this once and they were fine) but... would you believe it, the PC died this morning after a rather impressive display of graphic fireworks.
I'm having QUITE a day.
So, until I am 100% happy that these lots are not going to appear with green flashing roofs in your neighbourhood screen, I have withdrawn them. Rest assured they will be back soon.
Now where did I put that sledgehammer....
Storybook Home Bakery Set
I've got a whole neighbourhood of Storybook lots planned, the first of which are the Home Bakery lots which are released tomorrow. There are two lots. One is fully furnished and finished and the other is a starter version with a smaller house. You could always try both and use one for a different business (or stick a grandparent or troublesome teen in the separate building instead!) Anyway, there's a choice there for your particular Sims. The lots look best placed on a corner but this isn't essential. Both are on a 2x2 lot. The full business requires NL and OFB but the starter requires OFB ONLY.
Here's some details of the Storybook Home Bakery:
And the rather more sparsely furnished Storybook Starter Home Bakery:
More Storybook lots coming soon! Hope you like them :-)
Meadcroft
You will only need NL and OFB to install this lot. It's a companion to Woodcroft - I'm hoping the two will sit well together in a neighbourhood. Here's a couple more pics:An overview of the lot - taken before I'd completely finished the lot! (The driveway will accomodate two cars):
The back garden and pool (it's on a 3x3 lot):
And the spacious ground floor:
As you can see, the lot is unfurnished. I haven't put a kitchen in because there's several rooms which are suitable (including the conservatory), so I thought I'd leave it up to everyone's individual tastes.
Back soon!

Inside Three Cubes...
Now, Three Cubes does NOT require Uni - just NL and OFB. I'm hoping that will be good news for those of you who don't have that expansion. I'll be posting more this subject soon but the good news is that I'm now able to build without using certain EPs, thanks to rhiamom's hard work in the forums. :-)Here's a couple of shots of the interior of Three Cubes, as promised. It's decorated throughout in greys and yellows - much nicer and more sophisticated than it sounds, lol! It's set up for a Sim couple to use at the moment, but you could rearrange it to make room for a couple of kids.
The top floor:
The middle floor:
The ground floor has a study, small gym area and a small bathroom but I don't have a picture to show you, sorry! :-(
This lot will be released in a set along with an unfurnished starter version, so that those of you who like to have your Sims work their way up in the world can do so :-)
Bye!
Three Cubes
Well, I got the idea for this lot and just couldn't resist giving it a go. There were times I wished I had, mind you, because as simple as it looks, this was quite a challenge to build. Lots of CFE cheats and on the first two attempts, I took away the underside walls away too soon and was left with cubes floating in the air... with no floors. And no way of putting them there because of the CFE...That'll teach me for trying to be clever, won't it?!
Here's a couple of closer shots of the exterior:
And details of two of the roof terraces:
Back soon with the interior details. There'll be no stopping me now that I can upload photos again, lol ;-)
Psst!
If you haven't read your newsletter yet, my Georgian Goods lot is free to download at the moment. You can thank TSR for this ;-) If you've never tried selling furniture before and your Sims want an open area loft-space to live in, this lot is for you!The building:

The pool and dining area:
One hint: flatter and flirt with those townies - then you can flog all the expensive stuff to them ;-)
