How I came here...
I don't even remember the first time I got to TSR... I guess I must have downloaded a few creations for the Sims 2, but I really don't know which ones, and as I changed my computer since, it will for ever be a mystery. I stopped playing the Sims for a while, and started to play rather World of Warcraft, and, since I missed the creation, jumped into Second Life and it's relatively simple creation mode. That is where I began texturing a lot... For clothes, or small objects and accessoires.
As the Sims 3 were released, I installed the game and was disappointed over the poverty of it's content. The game is great, but they were so little objets to buy, event if recoloring and pattern changing is a great enhancement! And, confident in what I learned from SL, I started to read the tutorials for TSR. And started my first attempt, that so simple Hosta Plant, named Patriot.
I really was surprised to see it accepted, and published! It has nothing so memorable or inventive...
I understood how the textures work, and how to create masks to make items recolorable, I had to learn how to mesh... And so I bought that wonderfull Milkshape 3D program (for Second Life I used Blender, but as I'm working on a laptop, Milkshape is so much easier to handle!)
Fist of all, I tried to modify a very simple mesh : the round 1x1 rug that I turned into a frog, or teddybear shape. Once I had done this, I made a wine bottle, cloning those three ugly kitchen pots! I had to make 3 or more attempts before the final version, but I made it! I'm proud of that little bottle, event if there are many other to download which are much prettier, because it was the hell to understand how those high, an low definition meshes work and why the texture go all crazy in TSR and, and, and...
I'm triyng my best to make small original items, and if you have any interesting idea to submit, I'm ready to give it a try!
