Hi, thanks for the info on Vista, I will be getting the upgrade as I have recently purchased a new pc and the upgrade to Vista Home Premium is free, I was concerned about my Sims 2 game play, this article has taken away some of my fears about the upgrade. Thanks again.

Hi Steve, and thanks for the critique of the upcoming Sims Life Stories. In reading about it I had thought it sounded a bit like the TSR Challenges (which I've only recently discovered and am enjoying tremendously!) so I'm glad to hear you confirm my hunch. I might still buy it to play on my laptop while I'm traveling, and it sounds like it might be a great way to get some of my reluctant family members to finally try the game, but I suspect I'll still spend most of my time with the regular game. Thanks for the helpful info! Oh and by the way, I don't think I've ever thanked you for this fantastic web site...so here it is: T*H*A*N*K*S FOR TSR!!! Not only has TSR added a fantastic amount of detail and texture to my Sims I & II play experience, but the website itself is extremely well run and a pleasure to visit and participate in. Thanks for all the hard work!! \:rah\: \:rah\: \:rah\: Claudia Blick

I run Vista already the game works just fine! However, I have noticed that on a ccouple of download sites, like "The Insimenator Site" when you try to download a zip or rar file it actually downloads a php file instead. Why do you think that happens? First off,I'll tell you I have 2 computers my primary runs vista, the secondary runs xp. I do not have any problems with the xp on downloading files from any site. Vista on the other hand tries to download the php, although I don't have that problem on TSR, like I said its just certain sites..... Don't get me wrong I like Vista runs real smooth, well except the php downloading thing. As with every new program there are going to be a few bugs here and there..... \:D

This is very late... but I read the article on the preview session of The Sims2 Seasons you attended. Love the way it was written, very informative. \:\) I was a little apprehensive about buying another expansion pack (they're quite an investment along with an obsession), but your article has me excited (and basically convinced that I need the new EP) and I'm ready to continue Simming onward with the rest of the community! I'm glad they added more "food" options. I'm a foodie myself, and I think my Sims should be too. Hee.

Thanks for the information regarding Vista and Sims 2. I have not gotten a computer with Vista yet, but someday in the future I may have to. This reassures me, Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I bought a new computer yesterday and was told I was eligible for a free upgrade to Vista Home Premium. Dunno if I will take advantage of it, at least not right now, but it's good to know it won't interfere with my game!\:\)

Glad your not having any problems with Vista, I myself am leery about trying anything when it first comes out. I've heard there's a patch or something like that coming out in the summer for the Vista program to run properly. I'm planning on buying a new computer in a week or so and hoping to find one with XP, that's what I'm used to.

I recently purchased a new computer and am waiting for my free windows vista to get here. Your article really helped to ease some fears that I had about how it will perform with the game. Thanks for the time it took to write it up. Karr\:wub\:

Steve - I have had several issues, not with Vista compatibility with Sims2, which works fine, but with community programmes. Clean Installer has a security shield on it, and constantly asks for permission and does not appear to install items into the downloads folder, the TSR Installer Wizard also doesnt install properly and files have to be downloaded as zip files and installed manaually, the Story and challenge wizards do not work either (unless they have been updated within the last day or so to accomodate the new filepath). I started a thread on the forums about the issues I was, and still am having, a few weeks ago. The main sticking point is that on Vista there is no such thing as Documents and Settings it has become USERS and MY DOCUMENTS which is now called just DOCUMENTS. \:\(

I just found out that I'm getting enough money to buy a new computer with my tax return, so I was discussing Vista with my husband (I'm the geek in the family, little shock there). However, he saw some of the features on the Today Show in an interview with Bill Gates, and even he thought it was pretty cool. Maybe my work computer will be upgraded to XP... Doubt it. Thank you for the article. It's nice to know that someone out there is looking out for our poor little Sims.....

Thank you ever so much for the Windows Vista article. I thought it was well written, organized, and covered the main issues important to all of us. Nice pictures, too! Thanks for the information - this will be very handy when I finally decide to upgrade to Vista. \:rah\:
