When Rose Chesterton grew older, it seemed clear to her and her parents in Bridgeport that potential husbands won't line up. Rose was not exactly pretty or charming, maybe witty and clever, but these qualities were not asked from a young lady in 1885. Her parents were deeply relieved when George Pemberley came along, a not so young anymore timber merchant from Moonlight Falls, just when Rose thought about becoming a governess for the youngest of the Langraab children.
After a short, but appropriate time of engagement she married George Pemberley and accompanied him to Moonlight Falls and because Rose missed the vibrant and elegant Bridgeport, George built her this victorian mixture of townhouse and elegant country mansion.
To Roses surprise she felt quite at home after a while in this small town world. Together with George she enjoyed long walks in the forest and often came along when George had meetings with his business associates. And although their marriage was astonishing happy, they had only one son, they named after Georges father Henry.
Henry grew up as a happy child and instead of overtaking the timber business of his father, he became a successful journalist in Bridgeport.
After Georges death Rose had another twenty years she spent as a piano teacher, looking forward to Henrys short visits with his family once or twice a year.
Henrys son, the heir of this house, planned to remodel this mansion for his family, but his wife isn't fond of living in Moonlight Falls.
So now he sells it, as it is, lacking all modern amenities, like a bathroom, electricity and a modern kitchen, but with rich period details and a lot of character.
The first floor features a parlor, a music room, a dining room, a kitchen and a very small wc, a back porch overlooking the overgrown rose garden. The two main bedrooms are on the second floor, both with attached dressing rooms with clawfoot tubs. The green suite overlooking the street, the yellow one, Rose old suite, overlooking the river.
There is a cedar wood closet in the attic and two servants quarters (and a lot of old clutter)

This house is based on a friends house Maryland. The floor plan is quite accurate and as they life in an old world charmer they still have only one bathroom. But they spent years with renovating and decorating and throughout this process they lived with dressing rooms, no shower or real bathtub and the only WC downstairs.
