In wrapping up my sequence of plantation-styled homes, I have completed the series with three last lots from the movie, Gone with the Wind. This is the first home out of three from the famous movie. The last two will be Tara I (Pre-war) and Tara II (Post-war)

This beautiful mansion was built by Rhett Butler for his bride, Scarlet, right after the war ended. Her beloved plantation home, Tara, was in ill repair due to the long war and was not fit to live in at the time. The Butler mansion was built in the city of Atlanta on Peachtree Street and was very extravagant for the times. It was a decadent symbol of Rhett's fortunes made off the war. I hope you like my Sims rendition of this famous home.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped with huge magnolia trees, formal shrubs, flowers and include a lovely gazing pool with eloquent statues and shrubbery to enhance the grounds. There is an enclosed two story gazebo for painting and playing chess. Next to the gazebo is a private sitting area for reading or just enjoying the tranquil beauty of the garden. There is a large fountain off the veranda. For those hot Georgia nights, there are two large balconies on the front and back of the home.

The entry into the interior showcases a grand staircase, lavish walls, paintings and sitting areas. There is a spacious formal living room with a grand piano and fireplace for entertaining. The kitchen is large with a prep island, and there is a formal dining room to accommodate many guests or a large family. An office and full bath complete the downstairs area.

The upstairs has a roomy master bedroom with a reading nook and private bath, a nursery with private bath, a guest room with a private bath and a male child's room with private bath. There is a laundry room in the large upstairs foyer.
