About Me
Hello, I am Lailahni. Isn't life fun? I used to be a freelance web designer and consultant for local businesses in Mablethorpe, Cleethorpes, Grimsby and Skegness. I met my fiance at an estate agents that I did 3D presentations forand we are very much in love. We are so happy together, and we are hoping to marry on Christmas Eve 2010. I have now given up my freelance business, as I wanted to now spend more time at home, so I sold it, and have taken up the offer of a full-time position between three of my local libraries. I used to volunteer for them, but then I realised just how much I enjoy the work. It doesn't feel like work as it is so relaxing. As well as being a general librarian, I also help to teach children from six to sixteen in reading and writing, and to show them into the enjoyment of reading books. Their enthusiasm and excitement is contagious. My classes are always overflowing with such eager minds and excited chatter which is so lovely to see and hear. It is one of the few times when the children enjoy doing their homework! I also teach them how to write short stories and poetry. I am also writing my first full book of short stories for children which is due to be published in July 2010. I am so excited!
We live by the sea in a spacious bungalow in Mablethorpe in the UK. It's our little bit of paradise. Our view every morning from our kitchen, lounge and bedroom windows is of beautiful golden sand with gently lapping waves. When it's a nice day, we sit outside and listen to the calming ocean. It can be very hypnotic, but it is just so beautiful. It is so nice to feel the sea breeze! We are thinking of moving home in preparation to start a family, but it is very hard to think about leaving our bit of pardise. Maybe it is cheaper to extend! lol
My passions in life are reading, writing, knitting and now the Sims! I treated myself to Sims 2 and Sims 3. I have been enjoying a brand new world! Aren't the little characters enchanting? I am very keen to buy Sims 1, and maybe for Christmas I will treat myself! I am always telling the children in my classes to spend less time on their computers playing games, but now I can see why they spend as much time as they do! A good aspect about the game is that you can write stories, using pictures and videos for emphasis. I have incorporated Sim story telling into the reading classes and it has opened up a whole new avenue of creativity for them. It is very inspiring and motivational for everyone. It gives them a lot of confidence too.
When they told me about here, in how I can download things for the game, I did not realise that there are players who make things! I wasn't aware of custom creation. Some friends are going to teach me how to make custom content one day. I feel quite nervous about it as it is something new. But I am determined to succeed at it! I may write stories first as I am still so very new to the Sims.
I am enjoying downloading and playing with the content that is already available here. I have been so overjoyed by the downloads on here that I have been leaving some lovely comments for the creators. Kudos to all!
...to the Sims!
Love,
Lailahni and Aaron
