Sims body editor will extract a file called body~stdMatBaseTextureName_alpha.bmp. This is like a "pattern" of the clothes that your sim will wear. The white area is the clothes area, the black area is where you don't want any clothes, and the grey area is for semi-transparent clothes like hose (you can change the variant of grey to change the amount of transparency) It's changing this file will change the shape of the clothes. The file body~stdMatBaseTextureName.bmp can be changed to change the color of the clothes. There's another file (body~stdMatNormalMapTextureName.bmp) that I don't quite understand yet and isn't absolutely necessary to change a file (although if it exists I wouldn't delete it. These files will be created in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/projects/(name of project) directory. Hope this helps.
