Welcome to the Pirate house.
It was originally built by Iron Tom Flint, a real swashbuckling pirate, after his involuntary retirement.
Iron Tom Flint never got over his love of the sea, and to keep the feeling of being out on the water, he designed and built this home, using mainly recycled ships timbers for walls, decks, floors and some of the furnishings..
Although looking a bit weather beaten on the outside, the interior is a pleasant surprise
Comprising two floors, there are 3 bedrooms, two doubles and one single and three bathrooms. One on the second floor and two on the ground floor. As you come up the front steps you enter the front foyer, complete with chess tables, and a reading corner for when you just want to sit and contemplate life. You then enter a comfortable lounge area, then on to a quite well equipped kitchen, large dining room , exercise area and bathroom. This level also gives access to the 'Crows Nest'. A huge deck area, with easel, telescope, an umbrella and a couple of loungers, on top of the house, gives 360 degree views, and enabled Old Tom to feel as though he was still on his pirate ship. Truly stunning and a great place to still feel those sea breezes tousling your hair.
The ground floor holds 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms , and a fully equipped laundry. There is an outside entertaining area with bar.b.queue, seating and access to the clothesline.
The gardens are semi landscaped and two cypress tress feature in the front yard.
Old Tom has passed on, and now this home is up for sale. It will not take a pirates ransom to purchase and there is plenty of scope for renovating, if that is your wish.
It is however, also quite livable as is, especially if you happen to be an old sea dog at heart too.
