Hi yvonne!  It sounds like you downloaded and saved correctly.  It also sounds like you extracted correctly.  When you extracted the file, a sims2pack icon should appear after a few seconds with the name of the lot.  Did you double left click on the sims2pack icon?  It will open the install window and then you click on install.  Let me know if you did all that and it didn't work and I'll try to help further or find someone who can.  I want you to be able to download all the stuff you want!  Oh and one more thing, is custom content enabled in your game?  After installing, when you open your game, a screen should come up saying that cc has been detected and asking if you want to enable it.  Finally, be sure your game isn't running when you download and install.  I think that's everything!  Thanks so much for your nice comment!
